Fifty years after its founding, Di.Bi. Porte Blindate continues to design solutions that combine security, technology, aesthetics and environmental responsibility, viewing the door as an architectural and cultural element.
An Italian story of enterprise, family and local roots, looking to the future with the same vision with which it began.
The history of Di.Bi. began in 1976 with the founding of Di.Bi. Tranciature, a company specialising in manufacturing for third parties. By 1977, the company had already expanded its scope of operations by launching the production of steel subframes for windows and doors, laying the foundations for a technical expertise that would prove decisive in the years to come.
In 1983, Michele Delvecchio produced the first security door, marking Di.Bi.’s entry into the world of security. A few years later, in 1987, the company introduced the first doors fitted with electronic and electromechanical locks, paving the way for the integration of mechanics and technology.
In 1990, Di.Bi. became a limited liability company (Srl) and expanded its production facilities, thereby consolidating its industrial structure. Between 1993 and 1998, the company launched innovative products such as Briareo extendable grilles, PVC finishing panels and a patented lock for security doors, thereby strengthening its position in the field of research and innovation.
In the decades that followed, Di.Bi. launched collections of designer finishing panels that combine safety and aesthetics, in collaboration with international designers such as Momo Design and Karim Rashid, and local artists such as Paolo Del Signore.
In 2004, Poker, the brand’s iconic model, was launched. In 2008, the second generation joined the company, carrying on the family tradition on an industrial scale. In 2009, thanks to the Big Brother TV show, Di.Bi. gained national recognition with its security door, which became the symbol of the confessional, turning it into a cultural icon, whilst at the same time strengthening its connection with architecture.
This decade can be described as one of consolidation for design applied to high-performance technical products. In 2010, the Vesta security shutter was launched, followed in 2016 by Di.Big, the pivot door designed for large-scale residential projects. In 2020, Rasomuro was introduced: a flush with the wall security door with a minimalist design.
Di.Bi. is strengthening its commitment to a responsible business model. The company aunched the MITE door, which offers high thermal insulation performance, prioritises local suppliers and is embarking on a programme to improve energy efficiency. It has joined the Fano Renewable Energy Community, contributing to the energy transition and embedding sustainability into its very fabric.
